Prashant Kishor (PK) in Bihar election

Prashant Kishor (PK): the Key factor in Bihar Election

If the two prime factors that can leave even seasoned poll analysts scratching their heads, one of them is Prashant Kishor (PK) and the other is the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). The wild card entry of Prashant Kishor with his Energetic, Revolutionary, statistics-based argument has sparked in Bihar election 2025.

He and his party Jan Suraj party is certainly a debutant challenger.  But his slogans like “Vote for change, not caste” have triggered a political churn ahead of the 2026 Bihar Assembly elections.

PK’s innovative ideas

Prashant Kishore has come up with a bunch of innovative ideas that can bring about a radical change in Bihar. Bihar is wisely known across the country as a backward state. The stigmatization is a culmination of prolonged effect of anarchy, unemployment issues and lack of industrialization in Bihar.

Moreover, Bihar is a state, where caste and religion play the pivotal roles in any election. Despite his widespread popularity, Prashant Kishor is perhaps still struggling to find his footing in Bihar’s fragmented political landscape. Moreover, being a Brahmin, his acceptance in Bihar’s deeply caste-driven political arena remains uncertain.

Prashant Kishor’s Candidate list for Bihar Election

A glance at his list of candidates for ensuing Bihar Election reveals 22 doctors, a significant number of highly qualified individuals, women, and representatives from both Extremely Backward Classes (EBC) and Other Backward Classes (OBC). The average age of his nominees is just 50.

Notably, Bihar is a state where these EBC and OBC communities have got a predominant existence in Bihar politics. But he failed to annihilate the names associated with criminal cases, the prevailing trend in Bihar.

Worthy mentioning that the candidate lists of his competitors like RJD, JDU and BJP have got even higher concentration of faces with criminal cases.

As he emphasizes on eliminating the caste-based politics, a lot of upper-class representatives have secured berths in his list.

Prashant Kishor (PK) always claims his party to be the people’s party. Even the acceptability factor of the candidate at the concerned constituency has remained as the determining factor. This might not have taken places cent per cent democratically, but at least his efforts opened up a new horizon.

Concept of Progress of Prashant Kishor (PK)

Prashant Kishor (PK) envisions a Bihar that will rank within the top ten progressive states in the country.  His statement regarding the choice of public between Government schools and private may sound absurd.

But he has shown the way of implementation almost without any additional burden on the Government revenue. In the rural area, he strategies to link MNREGA with farming to help farmers to create a balance between productivity and employment.

If Jan Suraj Party comes to power in the Bihar Election, he wants to promote industry and trade to stop out-migration. He has come up with statistical evidences that the increment of the existing pension schemes and a couple of new pension schemes can take places without pinching much on the budget.

Today, the glittering flyovers might overshadow the harsh reality of poverty below, but Prashant Kishor (PK) is targeting at an inclusive development.

Prashant Kishor often seems to be arrogant in front of press, but his knowledge and wisdom due to his prolonged political career have made him pragmatic. He knows from inner within that its very difficult to cut an ice without the proper organization. That’s why he is focusing on percentage of votes that his people may secure than the mere seat count.

The recent bi-election shows that his party candidates have grabbed a large share of votes from RJD vote banks. The political arithmetic may not remain so simple in the assembly election.  That’s why even Narendra Modi had to quote his name in his election campaign.

Future of Prashant Kishor (PK)

We should not forget that PK is the poll strategist-turned-politician. Prashant Kishor (PK) has earned immense popularity over the news channels and Youtubers. Perhaps all big channels have travelled all the way from Delhi and other metros to interview him. The popularity is primarily because of his triumphant success as a political strategist.

Political analysts feel that PK views the 2025 election as a trial run, with his real battle for power expected in 2030.

Whether Prashant Kishor’s Vision will remain in pen and paper, the answer lies in the womb of the future. Prashant Kishor coupled with SIR have thrown political analysts off balance, making their predictions unreliable.
