SIR Panic of TMC: The last chance

Abuses of TMC on SIR Continues for SIR Panic of TMC

The blistering attack on Manoj Awarwal, the CEO, from Mamata Banerjee continues. So as, Abhishek has been lashing upon Gyanesh Kumar, the Chief Election Commissioner of India. So, it indicates that the SIR Panic of TMC ghost is still haunting the Jinx-ridden Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal.

TMC had been panic-stricken since the announcement of SIR. Initially they had vehemently opposed to the commencement of SIR.  The delegation team under the leadership of Derek O’ Brayan has met the Election Commission in Delhi, yesterday. They have linked the death of 40 Booth Level officers (BLO) with SIR. They have also raised allegations that the EC has got Blood on their hands. ECI has termed it as baseless allegations and issued point-wise rebuttal to the Trinamool Congress.  Election Commission has also warned the TMC delegation team against threatening the BLOs . ECI has also directed the Police Commissioner and the DG of the state to ensure security of the Booth Level Officers and Election Commission Officers in the state.

SIR Panic of TMC

While, the Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee hit the streets of Kolkata, she has been hurling abuses on EC and BJP as a result of SIR Panic of TMC. They first alleged that the SIR was a backdoor attempt to bring in the NRC. However, the process is moving ahead and should finish on schedule.

SIR Panic of TMC: The Real figures as yet

In reality, the figures of mismatch with 2002 voter list are just 26 lakhs. They have also identified 14 lakhs enumeration form to remain uncollectable. Trinamool has unleashed all its teeth and nails against the Election Commission out of SIR Panic of TMC.  Meanwhile, the State BJP has raised concerns about weak action and poor monitoring of alleged electoral roll irregularities in West Bengal. Such a paradox proves that BJP expected much higher exclusion while the early numbers alone have made Trinamool fear a storm ahead.

The truth is, no one has fully understood this Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process yet. The main reason is simple, yet shocking, no political party including Trinamool Congress stays connected to the ground anymore. Mamata Banerjee has been completely aloof from the grassroot level. Had they been, these numbers should have been on their fingertips. With regular communication and deep social engagement, they should know exactly how many people have died or moved away. Again, we can’t say they don’t know at all. After all, they exploit those very names to cast fake votes. So such violent attacks prove that SIR Panic of TMC still continues

TMC and other opponents in SIR

On the other hand, except Trinamool Congress, most parties failed to place booth-level agents in every booth. It’s difficult to understand how parties that can’t even find one agent, expect to win the election. Despite, the SIR Panic of TMC, none of the opposition could reap the benefit. Of course, sometimes situations arise when none of these matters. At that moment, only the demand for change becomes primary, and everything else becomes secondary.

When rigging becomes a habit in every election, and even allegations of sealing webcams arise, the situation becomes alarming. At that point, reflecting the true will of the people becomes impossible. We must also understand that this has silent approval from the central government. Central forces come in every election as a rule, yet the administration deliberately keeps them idle in West Bengal. Photographs have even shown them roaming around Victoria or having a sweet nap during the duty.

Yield of Special Intensive Revision

Ultimately, the dramatic emergence of this Special Intensive Revision (SIR) might have raised hue and cry in West Bengal. We can notice it has erupted political slugfests. Mamata Banerjee, even with her basket of social welfare schemes have become Jinx-ridden. We have had acrimonious debates over the addition of the term “Special” before Intensive Revision is constitutional.  But will it deliver result? Will this SIR really eliminate the illegal voters? Will they isolate the diseased or permanent migrated voters? The last but not the least, We expect the SIR will cleanse the voter list and our representatives will be elected based on the consent of genuine Voters.
