Bihar assembly election: Ultimate victory

Triumphant victory of Nitish Kumar in Bihar Assembly election 2025

Nitish Kumar and BJP led NDA clinched an emphatic victory in Bihar Assembly election 2025 as a result of ideal coalition politics. Notwithstanding the anti-incumbency rhetoric, this outcome represents a grand success for inclusive development and effective governance. The BJP also went all out to secure a decisive victory. In contrary, the cracks between Rahul Gandhi and Tejaswi Yadav had been a whispering campaign during the campaign. During the campaign, the Prime Minister repeatedly reminded voters of the horrors of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s “Jungle Raj,” suggesting a return was possible under Tejaswi Yadav. Indeed, unfortunate Tejaswi had to carry the legacy without any of his fault as “sins of the fathers visited upon the son”.

Ideal coalition politics

In fact, the NDA has been able to form the basis of a solid coalition politics. Finally, the equal seat allotment between the two major parties has shaped a solid format of the alliance. Nevertheless, none of their electoral campaigns signal any kind of ego clashes or revealed absolutely no internal rift.  Moreover, his commitment translates into reality through various women’s welfare schemes, such as the latest ten-thousand cash transfer. The people know indeed that the politicians are in habit of telling half-truth and half-lies. When they watch that commitments are manifested, they start trusting the leader.

Nitish Kumar is nonetheless, a rare example of a Chief Minister who has set a unique precedent for translating promises into reality.

 Coalition politics of Mahagathbandhan

On the contrary, we have noticed that the Mahagathbandhan is battered by various internal discords. The ridiculous part of the story is that both RJD and Congress nominated candidates in 12 seats and called it as a friendly fight. The term friendly fight has made the internal fictions more vivid to the voters. If cracks appear on the inside in the pre-electoral stage, it fails to assure the voters of a good governance for five long years.

In fact, the overwhelming response in the voter adhikar yatra has eluded Rahul Gandhi. Consequently, The Congress didn’t bother to keep that momentum up. Rather, there had been an unprecedented silence for long 40 days, which had been enough to bring the internal divisions into the broad day light.  Therefore, the irritated Tejaswi Yadav published the manifesto in the absence of any prominent congress leader. Notably, Tejaswi remained as a never-failing companion with Rahul Gandhi in the voter adhikar yatra.

Rahul Gandhi and Tejaswi Yadav in Voter Adhikar Yatra

Arrogance of Rahul Gandhi in Bihar assembly election 2025

The key point of conflict was with Tejaswi Yadav on the seat sharing in Bihar assembly election 2025.  Rahul Gandhi Should understand that we are in the age of coalition politics. The arrogant Rahul Gandhi tried to show high handedness, which is quintessential the tradition of Nehru Indira regime.  If the Congress rejects realpolitik and fights on the basis of its past glory, it can create a catastrophe. The drastic fall in vote share coupled with winning a mere 6 of 61 nominated seats constitutes nothing less than a disastrous outcome. While it is fine to reminisce about past glories, wisdom lies in accepting the harsh reality of the present.

The Congress party no longer enjoys those prosperous days; it must now rely on its coalition partners to cross the electoral threshold. If the party refuses to acknowledge this cruel truth, it will continue to pay a heavy price.

The sooner they realize, the better for the opposition politics in India.

Political slugfest after Bihar assembly election 2025

As usual, the political slugfest has erupted after the debacle of Mahagathbandhan. Akhilesh has clearly blamed the Special Intensive Revision as a BJP’s electoral strategy. Ashok Gehlot has reminded the Vote Churi in reminiscent with his leader, Rahul Gandhi. There will be a lot of analysis and will give birth a lot of conspiracy theories, but the fact of life remains NDA under the leadership of Nitish Kumar has steered a triumphant victory Bihar assembly election 2025.

The aftermath of the result will perhaps end of the era of illusive INDIA front. The West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, has already become panic-stricken due to Special Intensive Revision. The process aims at eliminating the deceased voters and the permanent migrant voters. It’s an open secret that such names exist in the voter lists with the indulgence of the ruling party for their own benefits.

The Bihar election results are bound to chill down the spine of Mamata Banerjee.
