Prashant Kishor in Bihar Election

Revolutionary Prashant Kishor in Bihar Election

The dismal performance of revolutionary Prashant Kishor has thrown political analysts off balance. The Bihar election 2025 almost took a plebiscitary shape on the question, “Whether Nitish or No Nitish”. Similarly, It rather became a whirlwind that swept away all opposing propaganda like straw.

As a result. the NDA had a triumphant victory of 202 seats out of 243. Thus, overwhelmed Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar have congratulated the people for reposing faith on them. Unfortunately, this was the debut of Prashant Kishor and Jon Suraj Party. Let’s try to introspect.

Prashant Kishor after dismal performance in Bihar Election

What’s more is it wasn’t his politics that sparked media buzz, but the glamorous career of revolutionary Prashant Kishor as a poll strategist. Hence, he got a pan media coverage and perhaps had created the hype. It is certain that his rallies and meetings had been flooded with crowd.  In addition, the fanfares dominated his campaigns, but ultimately failed to translate into electoral success.

We have noticed such instances earlier also. As an instance, the spectacular crowd during Rajib Gandhi’s visit in West Bengal got hardly reflected in the EVMs. So, such crowd could create illusion, but get hardly transmitted to votes.

Nevertheless, the mere 3.5% vote share speaks of the bizarre electoral performance of the party. The answer remains unknown whether Prashant Kishor had taken the conscious decision of not nominating his candidature. Revolutionary Prashant Kishor also accepted the responsibility of such a abysmal performance in press meet after his small silence for a couple of days.

BJP Campaign in Bihar Election

The Star-studded campaign of BJP has certainly stirred the Bihar voters. The announcement of Rs. 10000 cash transfer  just on the eve of Bihar election spelt its magical caste. Prashant Kishor including the opponents have alleged it to be “vote for cash”. It is Nitish’s governance record, commitment to inclusive growth, and clean, corruption-free image that have propelled his ascent.

The Modi magic has become live when he cleverly reminded about the Jungle Raj.

Moreover, a unified pre-electoral alliance could earn trust and confidence of people. The people were certainly hesitant in accepting a new party or a new concept.

A large section of women had already got the immense benefit. Its not only the Rs. 10,000/-, but also several women empowerment scheme and prohibition of alcohol have worked as triumph card. Everyone makes big promises (‘Jumla’) during elections, and there is a flood of assurances. Yet, the tangible results they have gotten are significantly more credible and they relied on that.

That’s why the public dismissed Tejashwi’s pledge of a job in every family, or Prashant Kishor’s comments on education and pensions, as nothing more than empty rhetoric (‘Jumla’).

The answer depends upon multiple factors, whether Nitish Kumar will create a record of longest chief ministerial. Even, Prashant Kishor has raised concern about the health and mental well beingness. It has created a churning  inside the BJP also. But, after all, we need to wait and watch.

Revolutionary Prashant Kishor and Bihar Politics

Lets come to the final point. The modernized and revolutionary Prasant Kishor has gone for a clarion call by slogan, “Vote changes, castes don’t”. His revolutionary concept went beyond the comprehension of Bihar’s average voter. Bihar’s politics has long witnessed the dominance of the upper castes.

After Lalu Prasad Yadav stormed into the power, backward castes, and Muslims, made significant progress. We should not forget that the implementation of Mandal Commission in 1990s flashed controversies across the country.

In fact, during Lalu’s regime, many common people faced problems due to the assertiveness of these groups. Bihar also witnessed its share of blatant caste conflicts, particularly during Lalu’s tenure.

Nitish Kumar, upon taking office, later introduced the quota for especially the Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs). Prashant Kishor attempted to stir the foundation of such caste-ridden electorates in Bihar Election. So, his concepts elevated above the mindset of general voters.

The commoner hardly comprehends the intricacies of economic model. Another Key aspect is that Prashant Kishor hails from a Brahmin family. So, his acceptability among in lower caste of the society remained doubtful.

Prashant Kishor was a formidable election strategist. When it comes to the art of polling and understanding how voters will turn around, Prashant is still a novice. However, he is young enough and reveals his energy and dynamism throughout the process.

Political analysts express that Prashant Kishore has taken the 2025 election as a test drive, he will actually come into the battlefield in 2030.

He has also promised to remain in politics and be with the people of Bihar, he may find the silver lining at the end of the tunnel.
