Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and exodus of illegal immigrants

The exodus of illegal immigrants in the border area has erupted political slugfest. The fright of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) has literally thwarted them from West Bengal. The live TV reports show their pathetic condition also.  In contrast, the scene of them returning to their country with their family and scant belongings is truly heartbreaking. The administration is checking their criminal background before deporting them. The unholy political nexus has come to the broad day light by the same token. Similarly, the triumphant victory of Mamata Banerjee in election based on Muslim Vote Bank has come under the lenses.

We have been hearing the vanishing of some maid servants here and there for last couple of weeks. Although, oday’s scenario has been different. A huge crowd of people is fleeing together has come under the spotlight, due to SIR. Moreover, the repeat telecast of the same areas in different channels have caste a ripple effect among the commoners. Likewise, Some of them are confessing that they had been in this country over the decades.

Additionally, some of them have reported that they have even voted in some elections.

Furthermore, some of them had worked as casual labor in even NKDA, which is a Government Organization. Hence, a few of them have  also enjoyed the social beneficiary schemes like Laxmir Bhandar or free ration. Its really absurd to believe, whether the entire administration was in deep hibernation.

The areas like Rajarhat-New Town, Salt Lake, Duttabad, Topsia’s Majdoorpara, New Alipore’s Durgapur bridge have witnessed a radical change in last couple of days.  As a result, the slums containing the Muslim vote bank have been almost evacuated.

On-site Visits of BLOs to trace illegal Immigrants

The Booth Level Officers (BLO) have started visiting door-to-door with enumeration form because of the exercise of SIR. The people without documents are leaving their homes out of fear of being identified as illegal immigrants. In the same way, this may be the tips of the iceberg. Mamata Banerjee has already sent letters to the Election Commission to pause the process. We still have no idea how many people are staying here on forged documents. Reports have also exposed agencies involved in making these fake identity documents.

Though, there are allegations against some of the Booth Level Officers (BLO). News flashes that even they have handed over the enumeration forms to the Booth Level Agents (BLA). Some of them have opened office under the shelter of the ruling party. The voters are to collect and submit forms over there.

The BSF–state administration nexus for illegal immigrants

Certainly, the culpability lies on Border Security Force (BSF). In fact, A network of brokers operates by taking money to facilitate the entry of people from Bangladesh into this country. A sustainable portion of that earning is handed over to the BSF. However, once they cross the border, they start taking shelters in the border adjacent villages. Here, the blame squarely falls on the state administration and the local political leaders.

The local political leaders provide a safe passage to spread out to various parts of the state. Notably, the majority of them are from Muslim communities.  Consequently, Mamata Banerjee should be aware of such unholy political nexus.

The shocking discrepancy between actual residents and legitimate voters in Gulson Colony has sparked the West Bengal’s political landscape. The reports revealed that there had been only 4000 valid voters among 2 lakhs residents.

Its yet to be unveiled, how and why these political leaders provide shelters.

Leaders cruise around in Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, or Land Rover cars with illicit earnings, yet the hapless citizens struggle to make both ends meet.

Unfortunately, the administration maintains strict inaction about these political goons. It is unimaginable that the administration knows nothing about immigrants residing here for decades, but its silence tells a different story. Perhaps the political nexus and the desperation of Mamata Banerjee for triumphant victory didn’t allow the administration to act upon. Reports reveal that the demography of certain districts has undergone a radical change. If the country decides to conduct the census, perhaps this exodus of illegal immigrants will bring about a phenomenon change in the demography also.

Success in Election propped up by their votes

On the contrary, it strengthens the rumor that successive landslide victories of Mamata Banerjee come up with the support of their votes. It also conforms that West Bengal is safe host for  the illegal immigrants. The political nexus has gone so down today. Now, the hilarious unemployment problem might have forced them to migrate to the other states of India. In fact, it also unravels the true reasons behind harassment of a large number of Bengali speaking people in various states.

It reinforces the claims of the oppositions that exclusion of illegal voters is essential to topple the Trinamool government.

One report has shown that the elimination of 5 Lakhs to 10 lakhs voters may result in swing of 20-30 seats in the border adjacent areas.

The news of such exodus due to the panic of Special Intensive Review (SIR) in West Bengal created a significant political churn in the state. While the BJP is voicing its jubilation in the open, whereas the Trinamool, though silent outwardly, is facing obvious discomfort. Political blame shifting continues, but developing a rock-solid defense to stop it from recurring remains undiscussed. West Bengal has become habituated in watching inbound exodus of immigrants for long. But such a reverse exodus has literally made all of us spell-bound.

Our earnest request to realize the appalling conditions of these immigrants and refrain from the voice of jubilation on humanitarian ground.

The TV Report of 23/11/2025 discloses that one Mayarani Goswami exists in voter lists of 44 places. So, SIR has started unearthing a lot of mysteries, which remained obscured to all of us.
