The Hooghly district has witnessed a day marred by two political rallies of arch rival headed by the two top notch leaders, Buddhadev Bhattacharya and Mukul Roy. The two parties organized their rallies just at a distance of 5 km. While Buddhadev Bhattacharya slams the government on unemployment and other issues, Mukul Roy has brought back the bitter experiences of 34 years. Mukul Roy did not forget to mention that Mamata Banerjee has exhibited guts to visit Darjeeling, which has been refrained since 1984. Both blamed each other for the growth of Saradha episode. The CPM could bring most of the eminent leaders including Anil Bose in the meeting. However, the administration remains happy as the tussles between the two arch rivals did not cause any bloodshed or serious...

Delhi is the best place to remain pertinent in the national level politics, which is firmly believed by the two arch rivals of West Bengal TMC and CPM. Delhi has witnessed two rallies in two consecutive days by CPM and TMC. While CPM had been vocal against the tortures of TMC at West Bengal, the TMC had raised voices against the tortures of CPM at Tripura. Both the parties have finally met the President. CPM has even visited the Election Commissioner to claim a free and fair election at West Bengal. It may be seemingly ridiculous to watch such rallies at Delhi, where none of the party has got any base. The situation is so grave that CPM fails to organize demonstration in the state, which used to be termed as their stronghold even a couple of years...

TMC, the ruling party of West Bengal has become desperate in penetrating the North Bengal, which is treated as a strong hold of the Congress and left. The latest municipal election shows that they have been able to open their account in Baharampur, which had got an exceptional track record of no opposition for last 15 years. Being inspired by such an overwhelming result in municipal election , Mamata Banerjee, the Chief of TMC has started venturing to Maldah and Raiganj. It must be noted that late Barkat Gani Khan Choudhury and his family members have been ruling the Maldah for a prolonged duration. Raiganj is the strong hold of Deepa Dasmunshi, the wife of the high profile Congress leader Priyaranjan. There is no surprise that Mamata Banerjee has been applauded by the crowd and the TMC has become excited to cut an ice even in these areas in the coming General Election...

Yet another poll in West Bengal and the trend of decay of left front continues. It had been since 2009, the left parties have been losing their ground in West Bengal, which is popular as their strong hold. Such a constant decay could be rarely dreamt in 2006, where the left parties could register a stunning victory in the Assembly polls. The arrogant left parties started taking everything granted. Being inspired by such phenomenal results, the party started functioning without bothering for the inevitable impact on the citizens and their livelihood. Today’s poll debacle may be termed as the glimpses of the inevitable consequences of showpiece of such an audacity. Even the left could not get away from such a slow but steady perish. There had been several untoward incidents in West Bengal, which were shielded by the left parties and the administration in their long 34-year regime. Such unwanted acts have spread such a tarnished image that the electorates are still hesitant to accept the left parties despite several blunders and failures of the current Government. The sudden rise of BJP’s vote share clearly indicates the electorates are utterly confused in selecting the right alternative. Even Congress has come out as the second party in some municipalities. The anti-incumbency factors could not be intensified by the apparently confused left parties. It is astonishing that the left parties could not raise the hue and cry about any pitfalls of the ruling party, who have come to the fame because of their revolutionary protests. The misconducts of the left are still referred often and on. As an obvious effect, the trend of significant decay remains ongoing and that could not stir the party top brasses. Did we find any of the top rank leaders to take the blame squarely? It is really unfortunate that the left parties did not feel the urgency of impelling to come in harmony with the citizens of West Bengal, though they have been constantly persisting to stand by the hapless citizens. The left parties had been always ranting at the silence of the TMC on issues that are related to common people. Ironically, Mamata Banerjee had ousted the CPM, whereby their voices against the land acquisition had been swelled into a roar. Land acquisition certainly remains as commoners’ issue than the nuke deal, for which Prakash Karat had withdrawn their support from UPA-I. Leaving asides such historic blunders, the left parties have developed many enemies even at the national level, which has also caste its...

TMC, the ruling party of West Bengal has been able to maintain its indisputable lead in the recently held Municipality elections also by forcing the left to totter. TMC has won the Howrah, Krishnanagar, Medinipur and Jhargam. The TMC has been able to open account in Beharampur, the strong hold of Adhir Chowdhury of Congress. The mandate clearly indicates at the growing popularity of TMC and the inevitable decay of the left parties, who aspire to come back in the coming General Election. It may raise an acrimonious debate whether the popularity of the face of Mamata Banerjee has enabled TMC to achieve such a clean sweep or the hatred feeling for the left regime. Even the by-elections results have gone in favor of TMC...
