AAP roles out its manifesto

AAP has promised Jan Lokpal, citizen’s charter and self-rule in its manifesto that AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal released yesterday on April 03, 2014 before the general elections in 2014. It has indeed been a trend setting affair for a party to take part so elaborately in a Lok Sabha polls after its formation in the Indian political firmament. Arvind Kejriwal stated that his party would remain focused on combating corruption and decentralization of politics facilitating policies that would further these efforts. Kejriwal also added that the manifesto digs into means that will aid this promising party to achieve their set agendas. Implementation of swift punishment for corrupt practices, a law for a Jan Lokpal, a citizen’s charter that will punish officials who don’t finish work in the set time frame and self-rule have been propagated through their manifesto. Kejriwal has had the most stunning debut as CM of the Delhi in December 2013 having promised the people clean governance with cheaper water and electricity bills. Unfortunately after a mere 49 days in power he had a tragic exit resigning from his chair as Delhi CM in February after failing to legalize the Jan Lokpal Bill. Revolution inside AAP

AAP has been marred by inter-party revolution of some of the high profile leaders in its nascent stage only. While Vinod Binny has been showing his resilience in several issues, the newbie Captain Gopinath has raised his concerns about the party’s stance in FDI in retail issue. Arvind Kejriwal had clearly announces that he would not contest in the general election, though his party AAP will contest in around 300 seats in the General Election 2014. While Arvind Kejriwal intends his descendents to follow him, some of the elected members have started raising their voices. Vinod Binny had been found to become agile as he could not secure his berth in the cabinet. It is yet to be unraveled whether the AAP leaders can mollify him before his scheduled press conference, but such agitation within the party may create turmoil as the party AAP is yet to get rid of its initial teething...

AAP needs professionalism

The phenomenal rise of AAP from a political anti-graft movement has left the national political parties gasping for breath. Each and every member of the 28 MLAs of the ruling AAP government in Delhi must reinstate themselves as active members of a newbie Indian political party. Only the aspirations of bringing about a movement to cleanse the nation desperately from the grip of corruption rigged parties which are currently at the helm is not enough. Each and every one of the AAP members must identify with the fact that they are now members of a state assembly that too Delhi which the capital of India. Their aligned thought process must be conveyed to the masses through the media. What ever slogans and viewpoints can be stated during a movement may or may not be appropriate as a part of the policy building government. As the members of the AAP are from every walk of life and the party is being boosted on a daily basis by the announcements of stalwarts from different walks of life joining their ranks it must also be mentioned that they must nib in the bud any sort of confusion or commotion that will arise within themselves in due course. Their portrayal of a single minded approach to any agenda whether acutely sensitive or not is desired and has to be achieved swiftly. Putting the foot in the mouth regularly is absolutely ruled out as has happened in some incidents when certain members of the party had viewed their personal opinions in front of the media. Arvind Kejriwal the honorable CM of Delhi had to set the record straight on those occasions. This is truly despicable and amateurish. The media glare on the AAP had been instilled when they were turning from an anti-corruption movement to a political party and continued when they staked a claim to run the government in New Delhi. This undivided media attention for the AAP is like a sharpened sword that can kill thousands of enemies but relentless handling can result in bloodshed of their own. It has to realize before its too late that the media can both make and break. They have to comprehend that even small blunders on their part will be blown out of proportion by their opponents who are waiting to go in for a kill with the General Election 2014 in the backdrop. The Lok Sabha is due for its final session in February with the polls to be held in April- May 2014...

Captain Gopinath joins AAP

The founder of the Air Deccan, Captain Gopinath, has joined AAP, which may be termed as a landmark achievement of AAP after the join of Balakrishnan. Though captain Gopinath had contested in the past as independent candidate, but his association with AAP has created a distinction. The anti-corruption movement of AAP has been applauded from various corners and some eminent people have joined the fray. Though captain Gopinath has wished to follow his heart to join AAP, the interest of remaining in the mainstream politics might have prompted him to join AAP. The conflict between Anna Hazzare and Arvind Kejriwal may have prompted Ramdev or Kiran Bedi to bend on BJP, but AAP should be happy as a bounty of stars is going to become their associates in the next general...

The AAP march ahead

Arvind Kejriwal announced his decision not to take up the two five-bedroom duplex flats that had been allocated to him in Bhagwan Das Road, Central Delhi. One of the flats was to be used as his office. He has asked for a smaller house as a lot of acrimonious debate surrounds his shifting to this allotted residence. He still continues to work from his flat at Ghaziabad. However Union minister Salman Khurshid today asked the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to follow the protocol by accepting the official accommodation, vehicle and security provided to him. Renowned singer Remo Fernandes has recently joined the Aam Aadmi Party saying that is was a movement worth joining.
