The Judge adjudged Oscar Pistorius to be not guilty of premeditated murder but is yet to announce whether he is guilty of culpable homicide. The blade runner could however walk free as culpable homicide has no minimum jail term. Judge Masipa ruled that Pistorius could not have foreseen he would kill the person behind the toilet door. The judge also added that there was not enough evidence of premeditated murder. The judge also stated that Pistorius had not been candid in explaining why his gun was fully loaded. However the judge did complied with the view that the accused did not suffer from a mental defect. Upon reading out the chronology of events on that ill-fated Valentine’s Day of 2013 when his girlfriend died it proved that some evidence by witnesses was corroborating while some were conflicting. Judge Masipa relayed that the court would rely on technology in terms of phone records that could be more easily verified rather than upon the memories of neighbors. India lash back upon England in 2nd ODI...

After the washout of the opening ODI in the five-match series between India and England Raina etched a memorable innings to pave the path for victory for India in Cardiff in the second ODI match. The match was played at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff on a cold and overcast day which had only a single break due to shower after the end of the 1st innings. It was again established that England’s one-day approach had much to be desired from. Captain Alastair Cook should indeed question himself how he could allow a completely demoralized India to raise their heads and batting to score 304 in their innings on a seaming wicket. It seems Swann is dead right about Cook having players in the English team who are neither capable of winning a World Cup nor mentally aligned to play any one day match. Swann has reiterated that he feels England trails behind other international cricket playing teams because they play an old-fashioned brand of cricket. The toast of the English team is not atoned to play ODIs and T20s like Cook, Bell and Balance let alone lift the World Cup 2015. Alex Hales, James Vince, Jason Roy, Jos Buttler, Eoin Morgan are according to him players who can be a...

Mr Modi must also address the prospect of new roads, factories, power lines, high-speed trains and 100 new cities that were highlighted to be in the pipe line to take India onto the next orbit. Mr Modi’s government has not touched the costly subsidy program that accounted for 2.4 per cent of GDP last fiscal. Mr Modi needs to layout a convincing five-year vision for India. The government strategy to create jobs is a most critical area since BJP promised job for all consistently during elections. The government must also focus on reviving the manufacturing sector which will be the key to large-scale...
