BJP expels veteran leader Jaswant Singh

Jaswant Singh the sitting MP from Darjeeling parliamentary constituency of West Bengal has been expelled from his party BJP for six years. The row between Jaswant Singh and his party had arisen due to the party’s refusal to grant him nomination from Barmer in Rajasthan his selected seat for contesting in the upcoming general elections 2014.

The rebel leader was thrown out following his denial to withdraw his nomination from his home turf of Barmer as an independent candidate against his opponents among whom there is a nominee set by the BJP too. The constituency of Barmer has BJP’s Sonaram Choudhary who is Rajasthan CM Raje’s choice. The constituency of Barmer has 3.5 lakh Jats among the 16 lakh electorate, whose votes it seems will account for the winning candidate.
