Chelsea faced a stunning defeat

Chelsea’s hopes of winning the title vanished when they lost 1-0 against Villa in a dramatic English Premier League match while ending up with nine men yesterday on March 15, 2014, Saturday. On the other side Manchester City won 2-0 at Hull City to gain points. Chelsea had their supporters screaming their support but it all proved inadequate as they plunged to a defeat disheartening their fans and coach Jose Mourinho alike. Now after yesterday’s unbelievable loss Chelsea have garnered 66 points from the 30 games they have played and are ranked above above second Manchester City who have amassed 60 points. The fact of life remains that Manchester City still has three games in hand from which they can accrue crucial points to eclipse Chelsea’s position. Like Chelsea and Manchester City had also their players sent off in the field but had failed to generate even an equalizer against the Fabian Delph’s 82nd minute goal that won the match for opponents Aston Villa. The third place is being shared by Liverpool and Arsenal in the English Premier League as both have accumulated 59 points. Aston Villa took full advantage of having more men and mounted attacks that yielded a gem of a goal nearly a quarter of an hour after Chelsea’s Willian was sent off the field and Ramires was dismissed in stoppage time.
